My name is Curtis Kish from Sturtevant, Wisc. Owner of a 1931 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan, I started with just a body that has been in semi trailers in Elgin Ill. To a warehouse in Racine were I was fortunate to purchase it from the owner for my project. I had to locate the visor, garnish moldings, windshield frame ect. I had the body acid dipped an was amassed that the body had no pin or rust holes in it and only a slight dent in one of the doors that was very minor. The top was chopped 3” and the roof was filled in with the top of a 1974 Chevy suburban, I cut out and used the suburban roof supports and welded them next to the wood model A roof supports. The tail lights came from a 59 cadi and are French into a 1931 Fordor Sedan. Interior dash, floor console and over head I designed and constructed from purple heart which has a natural maroon color and oak. The floors and firewall sheet metal from Bithin products. I installed a Vintage Air unit which included defrost and heat. Seats are from a Pontiac Fearo and the back seat is custom made. Upholstery was installed by Kasper auto Trim. Steering wheel is out of a Camaro. Chassis is from the Roadster Shop. Rear axle is from a Chevy s-10 and the front is a dropped chrome and stainless axle from TCI. The suspension is a four bar link. The engine is 350 small block from a 77 Chevy truck with a 4 bolt main. The engine is bored 30 over with 202 heads, mild cam and roller rockers. Machining was done by Mick’s Machine shop but was completely assembled by the owner. The flames were my first ever freehanded attempt. All of the body work, most of the welding, paints and build was done by the owner and the project took 2 years to do. It was a great task and enjoy every minute.
