I bought this 69 Camaro in 2000 for $3300. At the time people thought I got taken. I have turned this X11 car into an RS/SS with working hideaway headlights, headlight squirters and a 12 bolt rearend. The car was disassembled and the sub frame, inner fenders and other miscellaneous parts were sandblasted. I welded in new pieces where the sub frame bolts to the car and replaced the steering and suspension components. I then upgraded to front disk brakes. I then installed complete floor pans on both sides of the car. Then I installed a quarter panel skin on the drivers side and welded in pieces into the passenger quarter panel. The trunk floor was so bad that I had to replace the trunk floor, extensions and drop off panels. I also had to repair the drivers side shock tower and about a foot of the rear frame rail. I welded new metal into the rear body panel and also into both front fenders. All the welds were butt welds to hide the seams. By far the hardest thing I have done to the car is recovering the seats. The engine is a 350 out of a 70 Chevelle that I built mostly stock. The paint took me about 14 hours to do and the stripes are under the clear coat to give it a little nicer finish. I've tried to make this car look like it did when it was new.
