I have done a full frame off restoration on my 1971 Monte Carlo. It's one of eighty produced with a big block and a 4 speed. There where only 269 Monte’s made with a 4 speed in 1971. I purchased the car from the original owner who was a fanatic about keeping it all stock and had all the documentation. The car is well optioned with a 402 big block, M20 4 speed transmission, posi 331 rear, bucket seats, console, tilt wheel, gauge cluster, AM/FM 8 track, A/C, power windows and power door locks. With the exception of the engine machine work I completed the entire restoration myself in my home two car garage. That includes everything from the upholstery to the paint and body work. I used an assortment of different restoration products and paints, including those from Dupli-color. I have been doing home restorations for years, mostly on first generation Monte Carlos. I have a website dedicated to them at www.monteman.com . On my website you can see the full restoration from start to finish as well as some of my other projects.
