The truck that I restored is a 1982 Chevy Scottsdale and was my Dad's old mud truck. He recently passed away and I wanted to restore the truck in his memory. Builders are myself, Chad Cox and Doug Roberts, owner of Doug's Collision & Repair. Doug and Chad are not only great friends of mine but also my Dad's. Doug did all the paint and bodywork. Chad and I took the truck down to the frame, then sanded, cleaned and completely painted. Every bolt was taken out and painted or replaced with a new one. We removed the small block 350 and replaced it with a big block 454. Most of the engine components were purchased from Summit and Jegs. Deland Auto Parts did the machine work while Chad, Doug and I assembled the engine. Many of the smaller parts were purchased from Napa. The crossover steering was purchased from Off Road Unlimited. The door and window seals and the bumper were purchased from LMC. We installed a 3" custom exhaust system with 3" Flowmasters. It has 12" Superlift springs on the front, and the rear lift I custom built myself. It has 38.5" Super Swamper Boggers with aluminum wheels. I went through the whole front end and replaced bearings, seals, brakes and calipers. As for the interior the nutmeg colored carpet was purchased from ACC Dorsett, and the seat and door panels were recovered by a friend, Andres Carbajal. A lot of hard work and pride has gone into the restoration of this truck by people who love and respect my Dad. We had many fun times muddin' with it, but from here on out it's going to stay high and dry.
