I started this resto back in 2002 so I could learn paint and bodywork. I replaced the lower 1/4's with patch panels as well as a few other rusty areas with homemade patches. I did the bodywork and put the car into primer. I sand blasted the engine compartment and truck and painted those areas. I picked up another project and left this one for later. While visiting my brother in Louisiana we started talking about my cars and I started talking about the pink car. His daughter Steff was in 8th grade at the time and somehow he talked me into restoring the car for Steff with him supplying the parts. I restored all the parts myself as well as my first attempt at complete paint and bodywork. I used Duplicolor interior paint as I wanted the brightest white I could find. I completed the car for the 2010 Mopars at the Strip and Steff and I drove it 27 hours straight from Las Vegas to Louisiana. I rebuilt the engine, transmission, suspension, re-wired the entire car, helped with the upholstery, basically every nut and bolt in my garage. I rented a local paint booth for the final paint. It's a true homebuilt. My brother came to California twice to help out and do some bonding. It was very hard to give it to a 16 yo girl, but she is a great kid. She auto crossed the car in Vegas and has a great respect for the car and the energy I out into it. Now I have to build one just like it for myself.
